The lecture is dedicated to historical and legal aspects of Ukraine's membership in the Council of Europe. The 9th of November, 2015 marked the 20th anniversary since the official ceremony of joining. Whether Ukraine became closer to the Council of Europe standards in the field of human rights, democracy and the rule of law?

The lecture will cover the leading cases against Ukraine before the ECtHR and the PACE’s Resolutions concerning the annexation of Crimea and armed conflict in the eastern regions of Ukraine.
