EU External Relations Law: Security and Defence Dimension

One semester postgraduate course on the EU Common Security and Defence Policy. Students are expected to possess a basic knowledge on institutional and constitutional fundamentals of the EU. Participants of the course will investigate the political and legal rationale behind EU external policies. The first part of the course deals with history of the EU external policies. The second part of the course focuses on the legal fundamentals of the EU Common Security and Defence Policy. The third part of the course studies selected external policies of the EU and relevant contractual arrangements with third countries (association, partnership, neighbourhood) with relevance to the EU Common Security and Defence Policy. The fourth part of the course looks at the EU-Ukraine relations in the field of he EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
